Thai Island Living Is The Best

In my opinion, the best scenes in Thailand play out on the many islands of both the west and east coasts. Beautiful beaches, emerald seas and chilled out small town vibes combine to create some of the best living I’ve ever seen.

My life is so easy and relaxed these days that I had to force myself to sit down and start writing before I head down to the beach today. Since I’ve been in Thailand, I haven’t had much contact with the world back home, and I’ve never felt more disconnected from the life I left behind. Even the simple task of sending email is a serious effort.

It’s easy to loose yourself in a place like this. The islands are small and loaded with young, excitable travelers, mostly Europeans and Israelis. It’s refreshing to surround yourself with people from other countries, and I’m really enjoying the fact that I haven’t met any other Americans in a while now.

After a week of unforgettable good times on Koh Phi Phi on the west coast, we hopped a bus for the east side. Now, we’re loving life on Koh Pha Ngan, getting to know the place and awaiting our first Full Moon Party on July 12th. Similar to American festivals like Burning Man or Reggae on the River, the Full Moon Party is one of the world’s most famous celebrations, notorious for highly charged revelry and incredible good times.

The mood is mellow by day and explosive by night. We’ve made some friends along the way and have a funky group of people that seems to grow with each new day. Captivated by Thailand’s irresistible appeal, everyone is alive here and the energy level seems to keep us all in a constant state of bliss. Come evening, fire dancers swing flaming batons and fire balls on the beach while everyone chills out on the sand in Zen-like recliners, listening to music, sipping cocktails and sharing travel stories. I can’t imagine a scene more my style.

Every morning, as I reflect on the good times of the previous day and ready myself for the good times to come, I try to freeze the moment and love it for all its worth. I’m having the time of my life and couldn’t be happier.
